Keri Lynn Hilson is an American R&B singer and songwriter signed to Zone 4/Mosley Music Group/Interscope Records. She is part of a collective of writers and producers known as The Clutch. Hilson began songwriting in 2001 and would go on to write tracks for Britney Spears, Ciara, Usher, and Ludacris. Despite having made a name for herself as an arranger and background vocalist, as well as lending her vocal talents to many of the songs she co-wrote, Hilson remained behind the scenes for the most part until 2004, when she was featured on Xzibit’s single, ‘Hey Now ‘ and made her performing debut singing the track live at the 2004 MTV Europe Awards.

‘In A Perfect World’ is the debut album by American singer-songwriter Keri Hilson. The album was originally slated for release in 2007 but was pushed back multiple times into 2009, as Hilson stated herself, mainly due to budget cuts at her record label. The album was finally released on March 24th 2009. The album boasts amazing sounds from a slew of hitmakers like Timbaland, Polow, and Danja. The album features guest appearances by Timbaland, Lil Wayne, Akon, Keyshia Cole, and Ne-Yo. It’s a watershed moment that meets both goals-it sounds and feels great. Speaking up for all the ladies, ‘In A Perfect World’ also looks to empower women to be strong, independent and determined. “No human is exempt from the realities of life- heartbreak, failure, success…” Keri comments. Le chanteur anglais George Michael a sorti « Live In London », un nouveau DVD live immortalisant en 23 chansons live le « 25 Live Tour », le 7 décembre 2009 en France sur Jive/Epic Group et en Angleterre sur Sony Music Entertainment. Mais en fait, « Live In London » constitue le premier DVD live en carrière de l’artiste londonien George Michael. Celui-ci a été enregistré et filmé lors de ses deux derniers concerts à « L’Earls Court Arena » de Londres les 24 et 25 août 2008.
Ces deux représentations londoniennes de George Michael ont marqué la fin du triomphe du « 25 Live Tour », sa dernière tournée mondiale en date et première depuis 1991 ayant célébré ses 25 ans de carrière, et été l’ultime chance d’aller applaudir le chanteur anglais en concert sur une scène de cette ampleur. « Live In London » en DVD live contient tous ses plus grands succès historiques, parmi lesquels « Careless Whisper », « Freedom », « Faith », « Everything She Wants » et « Amazing ».
Par ailleurs, le premier projet live du chanteur britannique offre en plus un nouveau documentaire des plus inédits, baptisé « I’d Know Him A Mile Off ! ». Crisis is Alexisonfire’s third studio album, and the follow up to Watch Out!. The album was released in the UK on August 21, 2006 on Hassle Records and on Shock Records in Australia. Distort Entertainment released the album for Canada a day later than the UK release date, and Vagrant Records followed suit for the US market. The album debuted at number one on the Canadian Albums Chart, selling over 22,000 copies. Crisis was certified platinum in Canada in May 2007. It is also the first Alexisonfire album to feature a title track.

The album art for Crisis features aftermath of the Great Lakes Blizzard of 1977 that hit the Niagara Region and Western New York. The main cover features the famous picture of a frost bitten man, a snowblower clearing the large accumulation of snow, and bare trees during the blizzard. Additional pictures of the event are included inside the album’s booklet.

This is the first album to feature Jordan Hastings on drums, replacing founding member Jesse Ingelevics. Ingelevics was no longer a part of the band as of June 14, 2005, according to a statement on Alexisonfire’s official website. The post cited that the band and Ingelevics had slowly grown apart, and that he wanted to spend more time with his family and his fiancée. The song “Keep It On Wax” is about his departure, and his alleged trash-talking about the band that followed. The album also features Planes Mistaken for Stars frontman Gared O’Donnell singing on the track “You Burn First”.

There are limited editions of the album which include a USB flash drive containing bonus material. It includes the live performances of “Accidents” and “Mailbox Arson” at the SCENE Music Festival in St. Catharines, Ontario, the making of the videos “Passing Out in America” and “This Could Be Anywhere in the World”, and a slide show from their trip in Europe to the audio of a new song called “Thrones”. There is also an extra song called, “My God is a Reasonable Man”. The Vagrant Records version has an insert between the jewel case and original album cover, the insert changed the cover art for the US release, this wasn’t done in any other market.

The single “Boiled Frogs” refers to George’s dad, whose boss tried to cheat him out of a pension.

The poster of the album is also shown on the pilot episode of Chuck, when Chuck takes Sarah to listen to a local band, it is to the right of Sarah when they sit on the couch.

Orishas – Cusita Buena (Album 2008)

Description

Orishas is a hip-hop group whose members had emigrated from Cuba. They were first called the “Amenaza” meaning “menace” and appealed to the Cuban youth who were hungry for American pop culture which consisted of hip hop and rap. The Orishas delved into a realm of music in which they challenged “CastroÂ’s ideal of a colorless society” and created a black identity that the younger generations could relate to.

The group is popular in Europe (especially France and Spain) and Latin America. Yotuel and Ruzzo, two Cubans who moved from Havana to Paris as part of an international studies program, joined Roldán González and Flaco-Pro to form the band in 1999. Their work is influenced by the hip-hop movement as well as both Latin and Cuban rhythms. To date they have produced a total of 4 studio albums and a greatest hits album. Their latest album Cosita Buena was released on June 17, 2008.
