WebDrive is more than just an FTP Client. By connecting to WebDAV, FTP, Amazon S3, FTPS, or SFTP servers through a virtual drive, there is no need to run a separate FTP client interface.

Unlike a typical FTP client, WebDrive allows you to open and edit server-based files without the additional download step. WebDrive has built-in support for the industry standard SSL protocol. When used in conjunction with secure WebDAV, FTP, FTPS, or SFTP servers, WebDrive will open an encrypted tunnel between the client computer and the remote server; giving you secure transmission of critical data over the Internet. WebDrive can also be used as an alternative to a corporate VPN. Install the WebDrive client and an SSL enabled server, and WebDrive can act as the VPN for your company; an efficient alternative to an expensive VPN and non-secure FTP client connections.

Use the site manager to define the servers you wish to map to drive letters. Enter the server URL and your username and password and press connect, to map the selected drive letter to your server. You can map different directories on the same server to unique drive letters. This provides easier access to frequently updated directories. You can also map unique drive letters to different server types one drive to an SFTP server, one to a WebDAV server and another to an FTP or FTPS server. You can also map a drive to Amazon Web Services. This is functionality not available in typical FTP software.

WebDrive supports WebDAV, the Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning protocol. WebDAV enables collaboration on a centrally located set of files. WebDAV is also more firewall friendly than other protocols. By mapping a drive letter to a WebDAV server, WebDrive allows you to lock files, modify them, and then release the locks so that others can view and edit. By using WebDAV locking concepts, WebDrive ensures data integrity.

Because WebDrive can connect to FTP, FTPS, SFTP, S3 and WebDAV servers, user s can store, access and collaborate on files in many locations though the familiar interface of a drive letter.

1. SFTP Support Use WebDrive to connect to your SFTP/SSH server for fast, secure file access. SFTP is supported when running under Windows NT/2K/XP/03. Windows 9x is not supported.

My Review
An amazing experience, I put on this album for the first time in the hollow of a writing night and have been overplaying it ever since. This album is incredibly hard to digg up so grab it before it dies, and for the love of god search for the lyrics.

External Review
Unheard of by many, revered by almost all those that own it, Slint’s second (and last) album is regarded as one of the most influential alternative records ever released.

Brian McMahan’s primarily spoken vocals offer a haunting juxtaposition to David Pajo’s (later of Tortoise and Zwan) jaggedly ornate guitar playing, with the lyrics seemingly having little connection to the stop-start syncopation of the instrumental. From McMahan’s tale of a ride on a roller-coaster with a gypsy fortune teller at a carnival in Spiderland’s opener ‘Breadcrumb Trail’ to his reworking of Coleridge’s opus The Rime of the Ancient Mariner (‘Good Morning, Captain’), at the album’s close, Slint’s final work runs the gamut of marginal human experience, abstracted against a backdrop of jazz time signatures and ‘spidery’ guitars, to create a stifling air of impending doom. For all that however, ‘Washer’ is one of the most startlingly beautiful elegies committed to record.

Sexy, claustrophobic, unashamedly arty and conceptual, Spiderland is considered by many to be the first true ‘post-rock’ album, following their Steve Albini-recorded ‘post-hardcore’ debut, Tweez (1989).
